As you all know, I am a huge Chanel fan because their colors are versatile and flattering on all skin tones. I feel that this collection has very festive, bright colors and not so much emphasis on red for the holidays. Brown and fuchsia looks like the main theme with lots of glitter/shimmer added.
Swatches directly under the sun:
Swatches indoor lighting:
Futile goes on clear with lots of glitter. This is best layered on top of a lipstick to add some glossy glitter effect.
Charming is a light pink with multi-color shimmer glitter. When layered on top of Magnolia, it gives an addition glittery effect. By itself, it's too sheer to see the color.
Pleasing is a gorgeous brownish pink with multi-color glitter. This is the most opaque and unique color out of the 4 and is very pretty. The fuchsia glitter in it makes the lips look full and glossy. This color was already sold out at the counter, but they are getting in more shipment.
Pink Pulsion is a bright fuchsia with glitter. This gives a nice natural fuchsia color on the lips.
Rouge Coco ($30USD)Patchouli is a brown with shimmer. This paired with Pleasing would make a beautiful combination.
Magnolia is a light fuchsia pink with no shimmer. It instantly brightened up my face when I had it on. It's a beautiful color. I wouldn't say this is the same as rose dilemma, which is darker and has a peach undertone, whereas this is simply light barbie fuchsia pink.
Tweed ($45USD)Tweed Fuchsia is a bright fuchsia that quite frankly terrified me when I first saw it. It is very bright in the pan and in the swatch. However, when I applied this on the cheeks with a blush brush, it gave the most beautiful natural pink flush. Think of the look you get after a light workout in the gym. Don't be afraid of it and I highly suggest trying it out on yourself if you can. This is not at all difficult to work with compared to MAC's Bite of An Apple, which has a strong red undertone.
There are also 2 Stylo Yeux Waterproof eyeliners in Espresso and Cassis that I didn't swatch. These are re-promotes from previous collections.
Ombres d’Eau Fluid Eyeshadow ($32USD)Splash is a gorgeous taupe with shimmer. This would be an awesome color to pair with the quad or by itself. You can apply it using the doe-foot applicator and once set, this does not budge.
Tentation Cuivree Quad contains 4 shimmery colors in the baked formula. There is a dark brown with shimmer, light brown, medium pink, and light beige shade in the quad. The quad is nicely pigmented as you see in the swatches that's applied dry with 2 swipes. I can definitely see a nice smokey brown eye combination out of this quad.
Next to Splash is the darkest brown color in the quad. Look at the bottom of its swatch to see the shimmer and the top is when it's blended out. This is accidental because I rubbed off some color while taking the picture. The color is actually very pigmented, not sheer.
Overall, I think it's a nice collection with a couple of standout items. I personally think I look terrible with glittery lipsticks or lipglosses, but if you're a MAC Dazzleglass or glitter lover, you will love the Glossimers, especially Pleasing. Both of the Rouge Cocos are wearable colors that are limited edition. If you don't have many pinks from Chanel, I would recommend picking up Magnolia. The quad has very nice pigmentation but if you don't like shimmer, it may not be for you. Tweed Fuchsia is an outstanding blush that I think is the star of this collection. Don't cross it off your list before trying it out, because it does give a super gorgeous flush on the cheeks.
Top Picks: Tweed Fuchsia, Pleasing Glossimer, Magnolia, Splash, Tentation Cuivree Quad.
If you're on a budget and can only purchase one item: Tweed Fuchsia
