Chanel Pensee, Pink Peony, Aurore Glossimers Swatches and Review

Chanel Summer 2010 Collection has 3 new limited edition Glossimer shades in Pensee (277), Pink Peony (267), and Aurore (287).  These all retail for $28.50USD and are available at Chanel online, Nordstroms, Macy's, Bloomingdales, etc. I first saw these pop up on Chanel's website but was on a no-buy due to Lent.  I was definitely curious about the colors and got a sneak peek thanks to Sabrina from TheBeautyLookBook. She wrote a great post with swatches and comparisons on them here.

I love the names of these glosses as they're so fitting for the summer season.  If you are a lover of shimmer, these glosses will not disappoint.  All of Chanel's Glossimers come with a doe-foot tip applicator.

Guerlain Terracotta Inca Sublime Radiant Powder Swatches and Review

One of the most anticipated item from Guerlain's Terracotta Inca Collection is the Sublime Radiant Powder.  It retails for $70USD and is available at selected Nordstrom/Saks Fifth Avenue Guerlain counters.  Unlike other bronzers that's currently offered from the brand, this has a very unique packaging.

The Sublime Radiant Powder is housed in a round wooden compact with beautiful engravings on the top.

Guerlain Ombre Fusion Cream Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

There are 3 new Ombre Fusion Cream Eyeshadows also released in Guerlain's Inca Summer 2011 Collection. If you've seen Chanel's Ombre d'Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadows, these are the same concept but much better.  They retail for $35USD each and can be purchased at selected Nordstrom Guerlain counters.

The packaging is similar to Chanel's Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadows, with a square glass tube that's a little bit longer.

Guerlain Terre Indigo Swatches and Review

Guerlain's Terracotta Inca Summer 2011 Collection is without a doubt, visually stunning.  One of the stars in this collection is Terre Indigo Four Shade Eyeshadow, a gorgeous palette with an intricate Inca inspired pattern. This retails for $59USD and is available at some Nordstrom/Saks Fifth Avenue counters.  I believe the official release day is some time in May but several stores have already received the collection early.

As with most Guerlain palettes, I love the inclusion of a mirror.  I also like how there are 2 different types of applicators; 1 regular round tip and 1 small angular tip to grab color from the small color stripes such as orange and dark brown.



The palette comes with a deep brown/bronze velvet pouch and a beautiful glossy bronze case.  

Guerlain Terracotta Inca Summer 2011 Collection Sneak Peek...

This has been one of the most anticipated summer collections for me since the release of promo images. My local counter didn't have any testers available because these were selling like hot cakes.  I'm not sure if they'll have enough to put out as testers either, since they are limited edition. Therefore, I had to break the Lent rule and make my own testers.  I did not pick up the 3 lipglosses but only the 5 items  that I think are outstanding from this collection.

Laura Mercier: New Lip Gel Colours and Baked Eye Colours Swatches and Review

Laura Mercier also came out with 6 limited edition Lip Gel Colour shades.  These retail for $22USD and can be found at at Macy's and Nordstroms counters or on Laura Mercier's website. They are described as " innovative gel-based lipstick will cushion your lips in soft-comfort colour with a shine finish".

Battle of the Makeup Wipes: Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes vs. Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Makeup wipes are near and dear to my heart.  Before discovering these beauties, I would often get clogged pores and breakouts from leftover makeup on my face. I also hated the oily film on my eyes when using Lancome's Bi-Facial or Clinique's Take The Day Off Make Up Remover.  Here I have 2 makeup cleansing towelettes to do a thorough comparison for you.  Both are affordable options that will not break your wallets.

What Am I Doing With My Makeup Money This Month?

As most of you may know, every year Lent falls around March and continues until mid to end of April. This year, I have given up makeup purchases from 3/9 to 4/23.  In lieu of Lent season, I have used the time and money that would otherwise go to makeup to help out March of Dimes. I will be donating and walking 6.25 miles to support the event on 4/30.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. The money raised supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It also funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. March of Dimes have been walking since 1970 and have raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies.

I would be more than grateful for your sponsorship with this campaign. Every single penny donated goes directly to the March of Dimes organization so I don't get to see or touch any of it.
